Monica M. Moussighi’s practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property rights, including patent and trademark procurement, and she is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. She also has experience with alternative dispute resolution, including mediation.
Ms. Moussighi has experience in securing and enforcing trademark rights, as well as in filing and responding to proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She participates in all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production and requests for admissions.
Ms. Moussighi earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where she acted as the Assistant Recent Developments Editor of the Journal of Consumer and Commercial Law. She participated in the Mediation Clinical Externship, performing over 120 hours of volunteer mediations in the community, and spent one semester fielding consumer complaints and providing dispute resolution at the Texas Consumer Complaint Center.
Ms. Moussighi earned her Masters and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on control systems, from the University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Moussighi spent three semesters working as an intern in the semiconductor industry. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Moussighi worked in the utility industry as a material evaluating engineer. Ms. Moussighi is a Texas Engineer-In-Training Certificate Holder.
