Matt Todd serves as the Administrative Partner at Novak Druce and is the Co-Chair of the firm's New Ventures & Business Transactions Practice.
Mr. Todd counsels clients on all aspects of domestic and international patent, trademark and copyright use, registration, enforcement, and licensing. He has managed the trademark portfolios of major U.S. consumer product manufacturers and has extensive experience in domestic and international trademark selection, clearance, use, protection, registration, enforcement, licensing, and merchandising.
Mr. Todd counsels clients regarding branding, marketing, advertising and competition strategy, e-commerce issues including domain disputes, privacy, advertising, and intellectual property concerns.
He structures, drafts and negotiates settlement agreements, license agreements, joint development agreements, technology sharing agreements, and master service agreements.
Mr. Todd is also an experienced litigator in the field of intellectual property involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, false advertising, unfair competition, and trade secrets. He has significant experience drafting and reviewing lottery, sweepstakes and promotion rules and guidelines, and approving nationwide sweepstakes and promotions for major U.S. corporations.
Mr. Todd works closely with client management to design and implement intellectual property asset management strategies and processes to capture technology and create value from intellectual property portfolios. He has also conducted intellectual property "due diligence" in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
