Gerald Thomas focuses on patent litigation, prosecution and reexaminations in the field of electronics such as telecommunication systems, computer architecture, software, and networking.  Mr. Thomas has broad legal experience and worked as an assistant prosecutor while in law school independently handling courtroom cases, and working in a civil litigation firm assisting with business litigations.  He has integrated his electrical engineering expertise and his legal experience in the area of patent law and is a member of the firm’s Patent and IP Litigation, Patent Prosecution, and Reexamination Practice Groups.

Mr. Thomas' focus in undergrad was microelectromechanical systems.  He designed and fabricated a fully functioning NMOS microelectromechanical acoustic transducer as his senior design project. He also worked in the Integrated Microsystems Laboratory assisting in mask making, pattern transfer, oxidation, ion implantation and metallization for MEMS and MOS chip fabrication as well as providing technical support for two of the largest computing centers on campus.
