Novak Druce + Quigg LLP Adds Trademark Partner Katherine M. Basile

San Francisco, CA: Novak Druce + Quigg LLP has announced that Katherine M. Basile will be joining the firm’s San Francisco office as a Partner and Co-Chair of the Trademark practice effective February 15, 2010. Ms. Basile is coming to Novak Druce from Howrey LLP where she has been a Partner since 2000.

Ms. Basile’s practice focuses on the creation and protection of trademarks and brands.  She has extensive experience in the selection, clearance, prosecution, enforcement and licensing of trademarks and brands both domestically and internationally. Ms. Basile has also represented clients in trademark litigation and proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.  Her clients include both multinational companies with famous brands and smaller, start up companies in a wide range of areas including computer and technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical, food and restaurant services, financial services, apparel manufacturing and consumer packaged goods.

Ms. Basile is widely respected in the trademark community. She has presented at INTA, MARQUES, AIPLA, ABA and ACCA conferences and was named in the 2004 and 2005 Guide to the World’s Leading Trademark Law Practitioners, named in "Who's Who Legal" from 2006-2008, named in "Legal 500 US" for 2008 and most recently recognized as a California leading business lawyer by "Who's Who Legal: California 2009."  

Ms. Basile worked as Senior Legal Counsel at Intel Corporation and Associate General Counsel at Levi Strauss & Co.  She earned a JD from University of California, Los Angeles and Bachelor’s degrees in Development and Cell Biology and German from University of California, Irvine.
